Cinemas in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai has two comfortable, modern, multi screen cinema complexes showing the latest releases of both local and international films. English speaking films are shown with the original dialogue and Thai subtitles. Thai language films often have English subtitles and these are indicated in the listings.

Major Cineplex

Located on the fourth floor of Airport Plaza and is a comfortable and efficient multi screen cinema of the kind found all over the world. Popcorn, snacks and drinks are available in the foyer for the complete movie experience.

The Vista group have a number of cinemas around town of which the best is the multi screen complex at Kad Suan Kaew (Central). A quality, comfortable cinema with all the extras. Their website has all the current listings.

Other Vista cinemas in Chiang Mai are more likely to have Thai and Thai language films but do also show Hollywood releases. Their listings are also shown on the Vista website.

French Cinema

For French speakers and lovers of French film, there are regular screenings every Friday at the Alliance Francaise. The films have French dialogue and English subtitles and start at 8pm.
